BigBakingBook is a public service provided by the American Society of Baking. BigBakingBook offers the ultimate flexibility and control for participating companies and anyone in the internet community searching for experts, baking supplies, products, and/or services. The BigBakingBook is a free service within the Internet community. Anyone with access to the Internet may search by keyword or category through all of the participating companies and products listed with this service. In addition, anyone may search for industry experts by keyword. Also, anyone in the Internet community may participate in the Market Place Forum or research US Wholesale Baking Companies.

The US Wholesale Baking Companies provides for multiple search criteria to identify groups of US Wholesale Baking Companies according to your specifications.

Professional companies of baking equipment, supplies, and/or services may participate in the BigBakingBook. For a small fee, companies may advertise on this site. Companies may also choose to purchase Banner ads for this site.

Companies participating in the BigBakingBook have immediate and full control over their product and service listings, and display details for their company.

SEARCH

Anyone in the internet community may search for baking ingredients, equipment, services, or a particular Baking Professional through BigBakingBook.  There are two major search methods available:  keyword or category. 

To search by keyword, simply enter the word(s) and click on the Search button. The system will return a list of purveyors found which satisfy the search criteria entered.  The types of information that you can search for are company name, product or a contact name. To look at further details, simply click on the company name.  A detailed page will be displayed with Company contact information and the complete list of baking products, ingredients, equipment, and services provided by that company.

To search by category, click on one of the categories listed:  Equipment, Ingredients, or Services. The system will return a list of subcategories.  Click on the desired subcategory.

The system will return a list of purveyors found within the selected category.  To look at further details, simply click on the company name.  A detailed page will be displayed with Company contact information and the complete list of baking products, ingredients, equipment, and services provided by that company.

EXPERT SEARCH

You may search for an industry expert by keyword. Click on the Expert Search button on left panel of screen, and you will be directed to a search page. Currently, this function is only available to members of the American Society of Baking.

US WHOLESALE BAKING COMPANIES

Anyone in the internet community may search for US Wholesale Baking Companies by keyword. Click on the Baking Companies button on left panel of screen, and you will be directed to a search page.

To search for a particular group of wholesale companies, simply enter the search criteria and click on the Search button. You may enter search criteria for Company Name, Product, City, State, and Co-Pack. The system will return a list of US Wholesale Baking Companies found which satisfy the search criteria entered.  To look at further details, simply click on the Wholesale Baking Company's name.  A profile of the US Wholesale Baking Company will display.

From the detailed profile, you will be able to view sales information and the type of business, in addition to administrative information as well as link to the company's web-site.

Please note that not all information is available for every single wholesale company. When it is available, it is displayed.

PURVEYORS

To access the list of participating Companies, click on the Purveyors button on left panel of screen. The first 50 participating companies will be listed with the Company name, and a City/State location.

The bottom of the page lists the total number of participating companies.

You may move through the listings by selecting the Next, Last, Previous, and First indicators at the bottom of the page. Next will display the next set of 50 participating company listings. Previous will display the previous set of 50 participating company listings. First will display the first 50 participating company listings, and Last will display the last set of participating company listings.

To view the detailed information page for any vendor, simply click on the company name.

MEMBER SERVICES

All maintenance of the BigBakingBook Company account is available through the internet.  To access your account, you must first Log In.

Company LogIn

There are three functions on the Company Login page: Login for Account services for existing users, Become a new BigBakingBook Purveyor, and Becoming an American Society of Baking member.

For existing BigBakingBook Companies, the system first prompts you for a UserID and Password when you select Member Services.  Once you have entered those two fields, click on the Login button.  If you have entered the correct information, the Company Information Account Management page will then be displayed.

For new BigBakingBook Companies, the system first prompts you to enter a UserID, Password, and company profile information. Once you have entered this information, you will be directed to enter your Product and Services listing information and to pay subscription fees.

Tips for Entering Products and Services Information

To ensure that your company is listed in the directed subcategory search requests, be sure to enter the displayed keyword in your product and/or service listing. For example, if you are an Ingredients vendor and you supply a variety of sweeteners, enter one or all of the sweetener subcategories in your listing. That is, if you supply Artificial and Corn Sweeteners, be sure to enter the terms "Sweeteners, Artificial" and "Sweeteners, Corn" in your listing. In other words, enter the keywords from the Category search page exactly as shown on the subcategory listing.

Please note that there is a system time-out set as a security precaution. If you have a lot of information to type in, and believe it will take you longer than 15 minutes, be sure to save your input in "batches" so that the system does not time out in the midst of your data entry.

Also, you may use the standard cut and paste tools to update your listing. If you prefer to enter your information with a text editor or word processor you can do that and simply cut and paste the information onto the Product Listings page.

Company Information

On the Company Information page, you may alter your Username, password, and any company profile information. The system displays the current information on file for your company.  Make any or no changes and click on the Update Account button to continue to the menu.  You may also select the Cancel button to return to the prior page.

On all Account Management screens, you may click on the Jump to Account Management Menu or Log Off selections at the top of the screen.

Account Management Menu

This menu provides all of your online maintenance activities:

• Update Company Information

  The system displays the current information on file for your company. You may alter your company profile information, contact information, and password on this screen.

• Account Summary

  The system displays a summary of billing activity based on the dates you select.

• Account Detail

  The system displays detail of current billing activity based on the dates you select.

• Pay Subscription Fees

  The system displays any unpaid items, and directs you to print an invoice. You may then fill out the bottom of the invoice and mail in a check or fax in credit card information, along with the filled out form.

• Update Product Information

  You may enter changes for your product listing through this function. Note that if you want your company to be listed under the pre-defined category keyword searches, you must enter the exact keyword in your product listing. A complete list of each of the category keywords is available on this page.

• Log Off

  You will be returned to the BigBakingBook Home page.

MAIN

You may return to the home page of BigBakingBook at any time by clicking on the Main button on the left panel of the screen. This home page is the primary search page for the BigBakingBook.
